Congratulations to Josh Barry, who is crowned as the overall winner of Glastonbury’s 2017 Emerging Talent Competition!

It was a very tough one with the 120 longlist of acts, which include a couple of artists that us at NWD have been heavily supporting: Jerome Thomas, Moelogo and Joy Crookes.

Nevertheless the talent was fierce! On a positive note, we’re definitely sure that those names will soon become the superstars in music for the years to come.

The main headliners for Glastonbury 2017 are Boy Better Know, Dizzie Rascal, Ed Sheeran, Kano, Wiley, Nadia Rose, Sampha and Nines in the ranks alongside Loyle Carner, Anderson.Paak, Lorde, The xx, Shaggy, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man and The London Grammar.

External from the main stage, Glastonbury shows the appreciation and celebration of underground breakthrough talent with their Silver Hayes stage; where many emerging, upcoming artists are confirmed to be performing.

The BBC has just announced live coverage of the festival across all their radio stations, television and digital platforms. The live coverage will have over 30 hours of programming; with BBC Two getting more hours to view coverage and BBC Radio 3 having live festival coverage for the first time. There’ll be a streaming of the 120 performances across the six stages that will be easy to access from BBC iPlayer – all in full HD and on demand.
