Despite all of the fame, Skepta is still the same guy from North London who “just wants to make music”. But this time Skepta is taking this one step further as he embarks on giving back to the community that made him to who he is today.
In collaboration with Levi’s, Skepta embarks on the power of music and fashion in a much more innovative way. In fact, this is a music project with a difference.
The denim fashion house is embarking on launching an global-community initiative called the Levi’s Music Project, where the next generation of stars will get the chance to learn everything from modern music, recording, lighting design, sound production and how to develop their own presence on social media at a local community centre in Tottenham, with Skepta being the first British musician involved in the program. The overall goal is for him to establish a music facility in his community that teaches music education.
If that wasn’t enough, the lucky students will get the opportunity to spend time with the entrepreneur (since he has his own record label), artist as well as other industry insiders who work in music. The project will reach it’s final development at V&A (Victoria & Albert) Museum’s Revolution Weekender on the 4-6th November.
It was only just a few days ago that Skepta performed at the flamboyant V&A in all-Levi-everything.
Also part of the project Stateside are Alicia Keys, SZA & Vince Staples.
