Viola Davis winning Supporting Actress for her role ‘Fences’?! It was just almost nearly a couple of months after the iconic actress came down to London to offer a special Q+A.
This is was just one of the biggest slices of last night award ceremony.
Dev Patel has reached for the stars as he’s won Supporting Actor for his role in ‘Lion’ alongside Nicole Kidman. Tom Hollard is the official Rising Star for 2017 and ‘Home’ wins the British Short Film Award.
Animation Short ‘A Love Story’ has been heavily pushed across the festival circuit, including the London Short Film Festival. So it’s no surprise that it took the award for British Short Animation.
Ken Loach, who’s among the legends to add social realism to British cinema (against the phenomenon of British gangster films) takes the Outstanding Film for his film ‘I, Daniel Blake.’ Hard-hitting documentary ‘13th’, which is set alight the large imprisonment system and racial injustice against Black in America, wins the Documentary category.
‘La La Land’ makes big wins at the ceremony. With Emma Stone and Damien Chazelle winning Leading Actress and Director. Overall, the film won a whopping five awards last night.
