One of London film festivals have created an upgrade for this year. Not only have B.U.F.F (British Urban Film Festival) gained a multi-year partnership with Odeon to premiere movies in Swiss Cottage & Camden, the festival is celebrating their 11th year. With B.U.F.F choosing their patrons as well as Adam Deacon & Femi Oyeniran hosting the B.U.F.F Awards this year.
The festival is still in the thirst for new content that represents the BAME communities in the UK and they’re looking for film content from undiscovered and upcoming talent coming from our shores.
This is a great opportunity to get your film screened and network with others within the same industry as you, as well as gain the golden opportunity to speak to heavyweights in the British film industry. We’re seeing a host of webseries and comedy sketches being picked up and commissioned by the likes of BBC Three, Channel 4 (Chewing Gum) & Sky (Venus Vs Mars) as part of the industries push to presenting the real British demographic, but this is just the tip of the iceberg, festival like B.U.F.F provide the launch pad that many creative film directors need to take their body of work to national and even international level viewing.
Want to get your superstar moment at the B.U.F.F? Then Submissions are opened now until the 27th May (with a fee of £50, whilst late Submissions are open until the Monday 27th June (with a fee of £85).
Stars such as Arnold Oceng, Aml Ameen and Shone Romulus as well as directors Larushka Ivan-Zadeh and Mo Ali have all been previous attendees at this festival. So if that hasn’t convinced you to attend, watch films as well as network, then we don’t know what will.
