Fifi Rong channels in a whole new sound with ‘The Same Road’ a follow up from ‘The Future Never Comes’.
The hybrid-electronica artist has started a whole new chapter with her new track, without subtracting her individualist credentials that earned her to showcase at SXSW Festival. She’s secured a headline at this year’s Great Escape and the Wilderness Festival. Not to mention working on having another single launch show at Stoke Newington.
The artist and producer has collaborated with the likes of Skepta‘s winning album ‘Konnichiwa’, Tricky’s ‘False Idols’ and Yello ‘s album ‘Toy’. Her new track ‘The Same Road’ is mixed by Max Dingel (Goldfrapp, The Killers, White Lies). It’s an electronic-rock of contrasting sounds that leads us to future without taking something from the past, as Rong explains:
‘The Same Road’ falls into one of my recurring themes of such inherent paradox and emotional cocktail of vulnerability and strengths. There is a stark contrast between musically driven, upbeat energy and heavier lyrical content, reflecting my inner resistance of moving 3 steps forward and 2 steps back, and the determination to break through negative cycles.’
