What do get when you mix the gold-British-soul of Amy Winehouse and the blunt honest lyrics heard by Lily Allen? Well, you get the voice of Mae Muller.
Yes folks, the girl who brought us “The Hoodie Song”. Now, that debut earned a load of buzz from the likes of The Most Radicalist and Hillybilly simply for its cleared and crisp bass and beats (courtesy from the producers Two Inch Punch Records) against the singer’s bold seductive vocals. “Jenny” takes the newcomer to a new turn releasing an upbeat single against her R&B/pop jam. Her music video is a revenge-sassy as she drives around with her girl pal for fun at the crucial expense of her male victim (who is booted at the back of the car). “Jenny” sees Mae Muller give a playful take on sad-song break-ups, making a testament to ‘…girls sticking together and realising that we don’t need men that aren’t gonna treat us right, boy BYE!’
Her “After Hours” EP is scheduled to be released on February 6th, so keep your eyes out for that.
