The issue about mental health has never been more evidence.
With the release of webseries “Shrink” next month, aspiring filmmaker Moses Ssebandeke give us a first glimpse of his work in short film “Patient 4318”.
Inspired by one of his favourite verses in the Bible, Ssebandeke produced and directed a movie about a young lady who was seeking an usual sense of therapy that will help her forget her past. The sense of symbolism with the balloons is enough to signify that it’s only us as humans that we can choose what to forget in the past. As our past effects the future.
I wanted to create a film based on one of my favorite bible passages. Isaiah 4318. Which is “forget the former things, do not dwell on the past” One of my favorite films is “Enternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” So I also wanted to do something that was a homage to that film. I also liked experimenting with Narrative and telling a story backwards. – Moses Ssebandeke
Being of the Lionstooth Collective, as well as having experience with BBC’s 1Xtra and Radio 1, has helped Ssebandeke to develop his own work that isn’t your normal British cinema.
