The Great Escape is finally here! And we’re thrilled to see many names being among the headline of new acts for new music. Follow through this post as we provide a couple of top pick events. We also have heaps of features of some the talent that we’ve talked about here so we’ll definitely provide the link. Otherwise, there’s LOADS of content that we’ve written about them via the website.
VEVO @ The Great Escape
Izzie Gibbs, Kojey Radical, Bulow, Rina Sawayama and the Lotto Boyz are just a few names that have been announced among the line-up of this two-day event. Alongside the likes of Mahalia, Dermot Kennedy, and Pale Waves.
Dr. Martens @ The Beach
Denzel Himself is one name that we strongly suggest that you should keep watch of, as he brings a blend of Hip Hop and punk, as well as blues. We first saw him at his small headline show last year prior to releasing his two EPs “Pleasure” and “BAPHOMET JAMES”. On the other hand, Poppy Ajudha whom we last saw at the WAVE Magazine Launch last year has been praised for the new-age Jazz sound that has seen her perform for the likes of Berlin Colors.
Liberty Music PR Presents GRL PWR
Ruby Francis released her second EP “To Be Fair” just this week. Her sound is a cool sweet-mix of R&B…if you are fans of artists like The Internet. There’s also ARIA and Secret Rendezvous. Overall, the showcase is exclusively sponsored by MissGuided. So we’re guessing that perhaps there would be some exclusive ‘garms’ (clothes) from the brand…and possibly freebies…
Anjelo Disons, Tobi Sunmola, Jords, Emmavie and Laura White are set to take the stage today. We’ve rated Tobi Sunmola and Anjelo Disons as the next amazing talent who are about to blow. Jords has continued with his own distinctive sense of flow and has gained praises for his EP “Before We Begin”. Then there’s Laura White also, who still has the voice that we fell in love with after seeing her perform last year.
MAKOLA are a duo whose sound has a unique blend of Afrobeats and Hip Hop. You guys should really check them out.
ADCO / Industry Link present…
You may not know her yet, but remember the name Chinchilla who performed at an intimate acoustic gig at the Abby Wood Studios last year.
