Set to be released with the US date in November, Deborah Davis presents a rather dark comedic of a Victorian royalty with 'The Favourite'.
The frail Queen Anne (Coleman) takes to the throne whilst her friend Lady Sarah (Weisz) governs the country. Things begin to cause a sense of mayhem in the household once a new servant (played by Stone) arrives, as the trailer reveals a sense of mayhem that occur. Set to play the 'Diamantians 101' villian Cruella De Vil in her own standalone film, award-winning actor Stone plays her part in 'The Favourite'. There's also former 'Skins' actor Nicholas Hoult among the cast, and will be in the next 'X-Men' film entitled 'The Dark Phoenix' that is scheduled to be released next year. Olivia Colman who has a strong portfolio of appearing in many television shows such as 'The Crown' and 'Watership Down', continues to move up in the movie world following her role in 'Murder on the Orient Express.'
The trailer gives a picture of the film being out of the average from those classic nicely kept Victorian films. There's element of fun, grotesque, sadism and seduction in these films.
Yorgos Lanthimos has become known for his unique style of direction since his films 'The Lobster' and 'The Killing of A Scared Deer' it's just that this time, 'The Favourite' as a lighter tone
