The trailer for 'The Good Boy' follows the leading protagonist (played by Lucas Jones) rebellious road to acceptance that leaves him with a dark consequence.
With him being in one of the prestigious universities, pressures coincide with high-expectation from his mother who works hard long shifts as a nurse. Released under Red Monstar Films, 'The Good Boy' is surely perfect for the current generation who are brought up on the realms of social media. In the statement of writer/director Jem Karto, the film "...deals with a variety of issues that are present in today's generation of young people..."
Jones has already appeared uncredited in films such as 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi', and 'Ready Player One'. Joining him is Emma Hewitt who plays Emilie: the popular girl who temptly invites Elliott to a party at the university. This will be Jones third Short Film that he's appeared in following 'Brothers' by Molly Boughen and 'The Runner' by Sunnie Sidhu. For Hewitt, this will be her first ever debut as an actress.
The trailer is eerie with the explosive flashing nights and low-resolution lights, but heavy cinematography. With Jem Karto, whom by the way - has two feature length screenplays in development at the moment are Sam Dawson (The Producer) and Rich Bertenshaw (DOP).
The short drama is scheduled to be released on July 31st.
