Cecile Emeke is taking the awakening of Blackness to the Netherlands, beginning with two episodes exploring topics such as identity in the Netherlands, it’s hidden colonialism, asylum, racism in Islam and the Dutch version of America’s Black face called “Black Pete”.

We see her going global with this as the community is beginning to understand their global oppression as a group, as a race…because injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. No matter how big or small it is, it constitute to the same aim of oppression. From Blacks being shot by death squads police in Brazil everyday, being red-lined, and denied good loans as a Black person in the U.S. (as well as police brutality) to being discriminated and ending up being poor due to being Black (especially those of the ancient Blue-Black complexion) in India.
