Last night was a full house the WAVE Launch Party event at the Dalston Roof Top.
The magazine celebrated its first bi-annual debut that celebrates upcoming emerging talent and unstoppable creatives who are making their mark in a fiercely competitive market. The founders Alexa and Savannah are 100% keen on placing the next big artists and creatives into one whole bible. The issue featured Mina Rose, Orejime and Young M.A. In addition to placing a huge emphasis on anxiety and mental health. It was a packed night full of positivity, as the party had a host of emerging acts performing.
Iyamah was the first up with one of the many first debut performance; singing her tracks such as ‘Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda’. She even offered an exclusive of her new song, which was still fresh to her own ears. Sporting blond braids, the petite-figure artist had so much to say, and you can be expecting to hear more about her soon.
Poppy Ajudah changed the vibes of last night event by providing more of a guitar acoustic performance. She gave us her refix of Solange’s ‘Cranes in the Sky’, as well as performed her own original track ‘Spilling Into You’. People were in awe with her raspy-soothing recording voice, that displayed the rawness of her vocals against the electronic guitar. For fans of Sade, Ajudah is the next best thing to keep your close eye on.
Kojey Radical also performed. With tracks such as ‘Kwame Nkrumah’, and new tracks such as ‘After Winters’ and ‘700 Pennies’ ft Shae from his newly anticipated project ‘In Gods Body’.
