Viewers are taken back to the times of the seventies with the cinematography. Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris are back in their director chairs after the acclaimed film 'Little Miss Sunshine,' whilst Academy winner Stone and nominee Carell relive the lives of Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in 'Battle of Sexes'. The title is enough to build your assumptions as to what the film is about prior to clicking play on the trailer. As you can tell, these two protagonists are both tennis players of different genders and they compete in one of the most historic games in the world of tennis that'll never be witnessed again in our time. Written by Simon Beaufoy, 'Battles of the Sexes' looks into the politics between genders. King was already a world number one. Riggs was a serial hustler. King was a strong advocate for women's rights. Riggs, on the other hand, was a stereotypical 'macho' male who believed that a woman's role was in the kitchen.
