One of the most successful night’s of the year within the UK’s most diverse festival was brought with, fine wine and everything dine over the weekend.

Layla Lewis, Emmanuel Imani, Sam Benjamin, films “Beverly” and “Invisible Men” are the just the few who won at this year’s BUFF ceremony.

The night hit off with Sir Wil Johnson who is highly regarded as a living legend in the British Television Industry. His exceptional speech as being BUFF Awards 2016 Honoree was filled with inspiration, power and honesty. Highlighting his challenges, triumphs as well as his wise words about the very competitive and ever changing industry.

“Concealed” Emmanuel Imani won Best Actor in his impressive role in “Invisible Men”. The young upcoming Londoner is already making in-roads, and already has another project that he’ll start shoting in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Vicky Earle, who played in “For His Sake”, won Best Actress. There was more to celebrate for Meshack Enahoro’s “Invisble Men” who won Best Director.

“Beverley”, which follows the life of a mixed-race girl brought up in racist-skinhead England in the 80s, won double awards as Best Short Film and Best Emerging Talent, thanks to Layla Alesha Lewis.

Sam Benjamin, Adriel Leff and Sade Adeniran were this year’s Live Script Winners for their upcoming pieces “Liverpool ’81”, “Imagine This” and “Adapt or Die”.

90’s legendary R&B singer Shola Ama entertained the crowd with and amazing performance of her classic hits. Shola looked beautiful in a lace dress and her voice is just as powerful as it was in the 1990’s. Also appearing on the night were Eddie Kadi, Charles “Chucky” Venn, Tyler Fayose and Fuse ODG.
